Swimming is the most important, and fundamental sport that children are highly recommended to participate in. Getting to the point of where they begin to feel the most comfortable and confident in the pool is where finding the ideal swim school becomes very important. Read on to find out how Aquatics Academy can successfully guide you through this very exciting journey for your whole family.
How much does it cost to learn how to swim in Toronto?
The cost of swim lessons in Toronto can vary for a couple of reasons. You have the choice for your child to participate in private or group lessons – and you may want your child to swim once or twice a week. Whatever the choice you make, prices may differ according to the program you choose.
Dependent on the age of your child, swim classes may run from 30 to 60 minutes in duration and this is where pricing may be different. Group lessons can be more of a budget friendly option; along with a practical student/instructor ratio, the group option can provide both tremendous value, and appropriate swimming lessons to fit your child’s needs. What is the best age to learn to swim?
The best time to join a swim school in Toronto is as soon as your child is 4 - 6 months old. When your child turns this age, it’s recommended for you and your baby to join a child-parent swim program. This is a great opportunity to bond with your child and allow them to be exposed to other children while getting comfortable in the water. At this age, swimming skills are not the focus of the program. Children are typically ready to join a swim skill program when they are 3 – 4 years old.
It is best to begin formal lessons for your child when they are able listen and follow their swim instructor’s direction. It is also important for your child to be comfortable in and around the water before taking a formal swim program. If you are unsure when is the best time for your child to begin, you are more than welcome to observe a swimming class at your chosen location, before joining. If you are contemplating swim lessons in Toronto for your child, Aquatics Academy is a great place to begin your child’s swimming journey.
‘Learn how to swim programs’ offered at Aquatics Academy
Parent and Tots Swim
At Aquatics Academy, the Parents and Tots Swim Program is truly a special aquatic experience. We focus on the skills required to feel relaxed in the swimming pool and around the water. In our parent and tot program our instructors focus on balance, coordination, assisted floating and kicking skills. The most important part of this particular program is to allow your baby to begin to explore the water on his or her terms, and to make them feel supported and calm in the pool. We offer a warm pool, and an intimate sized class (no more than 10 parent-baby pairs). This intimate group size allows for your baby to hear the instructor more successfully and for them to have more room to play and enjoy the pool.
